The Way, Day 3

[View from the hotel in St. Jean Pied de Port]

I have never been so tired in my life.  I slept through take off and landing and watched a movie in between.  Customs was a breeze (the French really don’t seem to care who comes in) and then we took a bus to Gare Montparnasse (I slept almost the entire way).  From Montparnasse station we took a train to Bayonne (again, slept most of the way) and from Bayonne we took another bus to St. Jean, the start of our pilgrimage.  We had some dinner, washed our clothes and ourselves and are now on our way to bed.  Hopefully we will be rested enough to begin our 490 mile journey tomorrow.

This has been quite an epic journey to the starting line… hope the pilgrimage is smooth sailing from here!
