California Day 17

It’s still pouring rain. I guess the storm this weekend is actually going to be a series of three storms.

Linds and I went and saw Sweeney Todd today. I have mixed feelings about it – I thought it was an interesting concept (the musical aspect of it) and I liked a lot of the music, but I thought the lyrics were strange. The music itself was beautiful, but I just had a lot of questions about the lyrics that were never really resolved. That’s how Linds and I felt at the end of the movie – that it was unresolved. Well, Linds was feeling a little appalled by all the gore, but it turns out that despite my new-found ability to cry through action movies, I’m still immune to throat-slashing.

Later in the day, we stopped by the salon and Linds and I filled out crosswords in trashy celebrity gossip magazines. I freely admit to this weakness for celebrity gossip and I’m a little sad that I’m going to have to wait eight months before getting my next dose. I was also a little sad to see that Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon are a thing, but only because I’m not-so-secretly in love with Jake. I’m sure I’ll be over it soon ::rolls eyes::

Afterwards Linds and Melody got chair massages at this place called Elephant Pharmacy. While Melody and I were waiting for Linds we got a chance to talk about a lot of different things. It turns out she and her husband are interested in moving to Japan.

Linds and I had Thai food for dinner and can I just say that I f-ing love California. We ordered the pad thai sans shrimp since Linds is anti-everything that comes from the ocean and the server, mistakenly thinking we were vegetarians, asked if eggs were okay. Hooray for vegan hippies!

Before bed it was more Grey’s and some wine.
