Today is Christmas. I woke up late since I was up late wrapping presents. The presents under the tree had an oddly St. Patrick’s Day feel to them since Kat and I ran out of traditional Christmas wrapping paper and ended up having to use Good Luck Bear paper. We had the traditional coffee cake for breakfast and I found it rather fascinating that my taste buds almost seemed to expect it. We opened presents and exchanged gifts and bummed around for the rest of the day.
For dinner we had steak and potatoes. Not to sound like a violent freak, but it was oh-so-satisfying to finally be able to cut into a real, thick piece of meat. Japan does meat well, but there’s something about having to use a knife to cut your food that really makes the whole process so much better.
